Article Showcases UNC Student’s Advocacy
Media Hub’s reporter C Jackson Cowart recently published an article that focuses on UNC Nursing student Alex Delaney’s work to confront stigma toward HIV. Delaney offered personal insights into the social and emotional dimensions of living with HIV in 2018. Having worked with the UNC CFAR as a research assistant, Delaney has enrolled in UNC’s accelerated post baccalaureate nursing program.

The article’s author also interviewed David Currin, the HIV/AIDS Nursing Certification Board’s 2016 Certified Nurse of the Year and nurse clinician with UNC’s Division of Infectious Diseases since 2001, who elaborated on the changes in treatment options available to patients since the 1980s.
