NC HIV Prevention Scientific Working Group
North Carolina has a long history of innovation in HIV diagnosis, prevention, and treatment, leveraging strong partnerships between academia and public health to create new models for care.
The mission of the NC HIV Prevention Scientific Working Group is to leverage the relationship between the UNC CFAR and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to reduce HIV infection in NC using the HIV Care Continuum as a framework to generate novel research applications. Membership includes state public health personnel and UNC CFAR investigators.
Objective 1
To improve measurement along the HIV Care continuum using state data sources.
Objective 2
Prevent new HIV infections using biomedical and behavioral technologies.
Objective 3
Interrupt transmission using traditional epidemiological methodology paired with near-real time phylogenetic analysis.
